The Benefits of Reiki

Reiki_Benefits_wChakra_SymbolsThere are so many amazing benefits of Reiki & it is excellent for healing any physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues of any kind and it gives wonderful results.

The most important thing to know about Reiki is that, it bring balance into your body and energy system, this is how it heals. Reiki can provide very profound healing effects. Though, Reiki does not promise a miraculous healing, it can’t undo years of stress, negativity &/or disease in just a few sessions. Reiki works directly at the source of your problem. It doesn’t just mask your symptoms. But, with the will to be healed & proper lifestyle changes Reiki is a great tool to bring your mental, physical, emotional & spiritual state into balance & at your maximum level of health.

When the flow of the “Life Force Energy” is disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk, toxicity, nutritional depletion, destructive lifestyle and relationships, neglect of self and lack of love for oneself or others, from emotions that are not expressed in a healthy way, etc.

SOME of the benefits of Reiki are:

  • Deep Relaxation
  • Relieves Tension & Stress
  • Reduces Pain
  • Heals Mental & Emotional Traumas
  • Reduces Blood Pressure
  • Removes energy blockages, adjusts the energy flow of the endocrine system bringing the body into balance and harmony
  • Assists the body in the removal of toxins
  • Supports your immune system
  • Reduces some of the side effects of drugs and helps the body to recover from drug therapy after surgery and chemotherapy
  • Helps spiritual growth and emotional clearing
  • Increases vitality and postpones the aging process
  • Raises the vibrational frequency of the body
  • Clears the mind and improves focus
  • Helps you sleep better
  • Promotes creativity

SOME of the conditions Reiki can help heal are:

  • Migraines/Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Skin Conditions (eczema, psoriasis, rashes, etc.)
  • Infections
  • Flu/Colds
  • Ulcers
  • Bone problems
  • Endocrine Issues
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Autoimmune Disorders
  • Cancer
  • Low Self-Esteem/Lack of confidence
  • Spiritual Conditions (Disconnection from self and life, Loss of meaning, Dark night of the soul, Spiritual seeking, Loss of personal power, Soul loss, Not knowing life direction or purpose, Inability to forgive, Fear of death, etc.)

In other words, Reiki can help you heal from ANY emotional, mental, physical or spiritual issue!

Reiki promotes Spiritual Healing, which brings with it a greater sense of participation and empowerment, purpose and meaning, and a broader perspective, with a strong sense of well-being and not just an absence of disease.

In other words, spiritual health has a direct positive impact on mental, emotional and physical health. What spiritual health means to you is completely up to you.

Reiki simply promotes the mind/body state that supports your wholeness and wellbeing, gently balancing and harmonizing you in a holistic and individualistic way.

Long term practice of whole-body Reiki will restore the general condition of the body. It will open & balance the energy channels and this will allow the body to properly handle stress, release toxins & cope with anxiety & depression.

When a person is in good health, regular therapy will increase the bodies built-in defense system. This will manifest itself as confidence and outward harmony in dealing with everyday events. The person will gain a positive outlook on life.

If used with other natural therapies (meditation, crystals, aroma therapy, Bach Flower remedies, homeopathy, etc.) Reiki will reinforce their effect.

It can be used also as complementary therapy, because Reiki is truly a complementary care. It complements and enhances the health care the patient receives in the hospital or from other health care providers.

Have you tried Reiki? If yes, how did you feel afterward? Did you have a noticeable change in your mental/emotional outlook immediately following your treatment? Did you notice a difference in your physical conditions? If no, would you be willing to try Reiki as a method of healing? If not, what is it the detours you from wanting to try it? What condition/s do you have that could benefit from Reiki treatments?

The 5 Principles of Reiki

These are the 5 Reiki Principles as I was taught them in my training. There are different variations as there is no actual written documentation of Dr. Usui’s principles, they were passed down from teacher to student.

The basic principle of these precepts is to take yourself one day at a time. Dr. Usui suggested meditating (praying, affirming, etc) on the 5 principals every morning. He believed that following the 5 Reiki Principals was the foundation of healing & opening ourselves up to the Reiki energy

worryFor most of us, stress is a major issue in our daily lives. If just for one day we could try to stop worrying so much, we could all live more peacefully which in turn, will also bring peace to others. Not to mention, lowering your stress will also benefit your health! So just for today trust in Spirit, Source, God (or yourself!) and know that everything is going to work out just fine. It always does.

Anger at others or oneself or at the whole world, creates serious blockages in one’s angerenergy. It is the most complex inner enemy.

Reiki is an excellent tool to remove anger blockages which have accumulated in the body over years, but it cannot keep you from becoming angry in the current moment.

Letting go of anger brings peace into the mind, body & soul.

honestySupport yourself and your family respectably, without harming others. Earn a respectable living, live a life of honor. Doing your work honestly brings more purpose and meaning into your life. When you do your work honestly and with purpose, at the end of the day you’ll feel good about yourself and feel more fulfilled about your work.

We are always asking for more and only seeing what we don’t have. Let’s try for one day to be grateful for what we do have like a job, a car that takes you where you need to go, a roof over your head, good health and a family that loves you unconditionally and supports you. When we are grateful for what we have, we will attract more good. The law of attraction states that like attracts like and lack attracts lack, so stay positive and be grateful for what you have.

What you give out, you receive back tenfold. Be nice, loving and caring to everyone, even if it’s not your favorite person in the world. We all deserve love and kindness. At the end of the day we will feel better about ourselves for bringing some light and love into someone else’s day, even if it’s just for a moment.

Sometimes life can be overwhelming. There are people and situations that anger or worry us. It can be easier to use our words to wound others, rather than hold our tongue or find a kind word or gesture to uplift someone. We can feel so down & out that we only see what’s wrong instead of focusing on the things that we do have & are right in our lives.

So, just for today, let’s try to put these principles into practice &  see how they change our perspective, day & lives! How will you use these principles today? was it difficult for you to catch yourself & use your self-control? Did using the 5 Principles of Reiki help you have a better day today than yesterday? Is this something you could incorporate into your life on a daily basis? How could it change you if you did?

Namasté Y’all!!!

thBKFVJT7ZI first heard about Reiki in 2010. I received my first Reiki attunement on November 6, 2010. I will never forget that day. The feeling of love, real Universal love & connection, the feeling of oneness that I experienced is by far the best experience I have ever had in this lifetime! The “high” I felt from so much life force energy (Chi, Ki, Kundalini)flowing  through me created this amazingly healing emotional release, that tears started uncontrollably streaming down my face (I hadn’t cried in years!) I was buzzing for almost a full week afterwards. I was so alive and spiritually aware for months. I was so gung-ho that I dove in head first. I was working with cancer patients at the hospital in Dallas & telling everyone I came in contact with about Reiki. I was practicing on myself & my daughter every free moment I had. If she had an earache, Reiki. If she was tired, Reiki. Didn’t matter what it was, Reiki was my answer for everything!

I am now a Reiki Master/Teacher, this means that I have the ability to heal & attune others. It’s been 7 years since my first attunement and I still haven’t attuned anyone. I don’t know if it’s because I still have issues with calling myself a “master/teacher” or not. I can say that one of the main reasons is because after the initial “high” wore off I haven’t felt “worthy” to practice on others. I still sporadically do Reiki on myself, my pets & children. I have tried practicing on my husband, but he’s not open to it yet. One time he let me & it brought up so many emotional issues that he needed to work on and let go of that he made me stop. he says, “plus, your Reiki thing makes me tired.” I recently met one of his friends who turns out, is a Reiki Master also. Talking about it with him was my awakening point. It made me realize how far from my path I have strayed. I believe this was The Universe tapping me on the shoulder & whispering in my ear to come back home to my true self. I am slowly starting to draw myself back in. I pulled out and dusted off my Reiki Manuals & actually read them! Since then, I have met 3 other beautiful souls online who practice Reiki as well and we are talking about starting an online Reiki Circle/Share. I believe this to be the Universal equivalent to someone screaming in my face to pay attention! lol

So all this talk about Reiki, you’re probably wondering ,

According to, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

I have decided to leave it at this for today. I will post tomorrow on THE 5 PRINCIPLES OF REIKI & how we can incorporate them into our daily lives. Even if you aren’t a practitioner of Reiki.
